Are you at a loose end and looking for something to do in Lincolnshire this weekend? Here's our pick of 10 things to do...


1. HERITAGE

What: Lincoln Castle Victorian weekend

When: 10am-6pm on June 16 and 17

Lincoln Castle Victorian weekend will offer an insight into the era with Victorian entertainment and activities. A special royal visitor form the past will also be making an appearance. Last admission is at 5:15pm.

Tickets: Adults £7, children £5


2. MUSIC

What: The Imagined Village

When: Saturday 8pm, June 16

Lincoln Drill Hall presents a leading British folk band inspired by the heritage and culture of the nation. There are ten members of the group making for an exciting and lively performance. The event is a standing only show.

Tickets: £17.50 or £20 on the door


3. AIRSHOW

What: Wickenby Wings & Wheels Arishow

When: 1pm-4pm June 16 and 17

The Wickenby airshow will bring visiting aircraft from around the UK, a large collection of vintage cars and motorcycles, plus children's entertainments, 4x4 off-roading and food available all day. The event will feature part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Spitfire and acrobatics teams including the Red Bull Matadors.

4. COMMUNITY

What: EcoFest 2012

When: June 15, 16 and 17

EcoFest takes place at Badger Farm, Asterby, Louth, Lincolnshire with live music and camping. The Validators, Starvin' Sid and Merlins Keep are just some of the acts. The festival was formed in 1996 to produce a weekend of entertainment focussing on the community.

Tickets: £45 for a weekend ticket


5. ARTS

What: Gainsborough Riverside Festival

When: Saturday June 16

Gainsborough will host a packed programme of family fun – including a 10-hour live music show, street entertainers, a traditional fair and a fireworks spectacular to close. There will be live entertainment at various venues across the town.


6. FAIR

What: Father’s Day Football and Family Fun

When: 10am-4pm Sunday, June 17

Held at Cherry Willingham Community School from 10am-4pm, activities will include a Crossbar Challenge and face-painting, various games and raffle. There will also be a barbecue, icecreams, sweets, hot drinks and snacks on sale. The main event is the inaugural Lincolnshire County Council and Friends six-a-side tournament


7. FILM

What: Rock of Ages at Lincoln Odeon

When: Showing times - 12:20 15:10 18:00 20:50

Rock of Ages is based on the Broadway smash hit musical and is the story of two dreamers trying to make it big in Hollywood. The film features music from Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey and Whitesnake amongst others and the cast includes Russell Brand and Catherine Zeta Jones.

Tickets: Adult £8, concessions £6, family £24.


8. FAMILY

What: Open Farm Sundae

When: Sunday 10am-4pm, June 17

Local farmer and ice cream producer Farmer Brown invites you to celebrate local farming through the Open Farm Sunday campaign with trailer rides, vintage tractors and equipment in Hutoft.

Join the festivities by turning your hand to felt making as we make a felt mural of the project’s icon, the Lincoln Red cow, from Lincoln Longwool sheep fleeces.


9. HERITAGE

What: New Railway Museum

When: 10am-4pm, June 16 and 17

Bardney Heritage Centre is the location of the new Railway Museum which opens its doors this weekend. You can also hire cycles and explore the countryside.


10. ENTERTAINMENT

What: Sandcastle competition

When: 12pm-4pm June 16

A special sandcastle competition to mark the Love Architecture 2012 festival is taking place at Mablethorpe Beach and people are invited to come along and join in. There are a number of different categories to enter and teams can have up to six people in.
