One million pounds lost due to fraud within Lincolnshire County Council over the past two years has since been recovered.

In one case, two former managers are alleged to have taken £500,000 by fraudulent means.

It is good to hear the sums have been recovered, but very worrying that the incidents were able to happen in the first place. Does make you wonder how many others are going un-noticed.

Accountability & Transparency is always missing from this appalling County authority.

Funny how the LCC rag tells me that they're going to make every pound count, yet 2 'managers' seem to misappropriate half a million quid quite easily. Perhaps Emperor Hill should abdicate and let someone competent run the show? His dog would surely be happier in the countryside than County Hall...
