Lincolnshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a spate of attempted burglaries at beach chalets in Mablethorpe.

Police were called to the South Promenade area at 8.20pm on Monday December 9, after a member of the public saw two youths attempting to gain entry to a chalet. The youths fled the scene but it was later found that a total of four chalets had suffered some form of damage to doors or windows, apparently in an attempt to force entry.

The suspects were aged around 14 and were wearing dark clothing. Local youngsters are being reminded that such incidents are treated as an attempt to burgle, rather than criminal damage or trespass, and that the consequences can be very serious for anyone caught.

Anyone with information about who might be responsible for the attempted burglaries should contact PC Andy Barlow by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 436. Report crimes anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
