Concert organisers say more big acts are on the way to Lincolnshire Showground after JLS wowed the crowds.

Lincoln came alive to the vibe of headline act and heartthrobs JLS, supported by X Factor winners Little Mix and former chart toppers Cover Drive.

An estimated 12,000 adoring fans packed the venue for the finale of the JLS outdoor summer tour, on Sunday, September 2.

More than 2,000 tickets were sold on the day of the event – the highest since the nationwide tour began.

Karen Mackender, 47, from Lincoln, said: "It was a fantastic show.

"It totally proves that Lincoln can stage a big event and we want to see more of this.

"The showground is a brilliant venue for big bands so why shouldn't we attract more class acts?

"JLS were brilliant and Little Mix were entertaining, too."

And now the Echo can reveal organisers are putting early plans in place to attract another blockbuster name to Lincoln, in 2013.

Dion Clements, director at Spin Publicity, which organised the gig, said: "There is something in the pipeline to possibly bring another big act to Lincoln.

"It is impossible to name that person at this stage.

"What I can say is that the JLS show in Lincoln was hugely successful."

After JLS's final show of this year's tour, band member Marvin Humes tweeted: "Lincoln went in tonight. Last night of tour – absolutely smashed it.

"Had a great show. Lots of familiar faces!"

Hazel Newton, 48, from Lincoln, said: "I was particularly impressed with JLS. They were incredible.

"They are all so fit, which helps.

"Cover Drive were also a real hit with the fans."

Kayleigh Curtis, 8, from Lincoln, said: "Everything was outstanding.

"All the bands sang really well, especially JLS."

John Stevenson, 50, from Louth, said: "The whole show was vibrant and energetic and the atmosphere was perfect.

"We need to see more of this in Lincolnshire because we are more than capable of staging high profile events.

"JLS were my favourite band because they really know how to entertain. They're all good singers, too."

Abigail Stevenson, 7, from Louth, said: "I came with my family and we have all had a really good time.

"Little Mix and JLS were especially good."
