A special plaque will be unveiled in Grantham tomorrow in honour of Sir Isaac Newton.
The Grantham Civic Society blue plaque ceremony is being staged at The George Centre at 3pm.
The plaque will later be moved to a permanent home on the wall of ASK restaurant in High Street – the site of the apothecary shop owned by Mr Clark where a young Newton lodged between 1655 and 1660.
The ceremony, being staged as part of the Gravity Fields festival celebrating the life and work of Newton, will be performed by Professor Martin Rees.
Professor Rees is Master of Trinity College, Cambridge – where Newton studied - and, like Grantham's famous scientist, is a past President of the Royal Society.
The plaque is one of a series funded by Grantham Future.
