Boston United manager Dennis Greene revealed as a benefit fraudster

The manager of Boston United Football Club has been revealed as a benefit fraudster.

Dennis Greene, claimed £6,166.86 in Housing and Council Tax benefits between September 2011 and January 2013 from Huntingdonshire District Council.

He said he was unemployed until March 2012 then he said he had low-paid employment.

He then said he was unemployed again from July 2012.

But a tip-off from a member of the public showed Greene was manager of both St Neots and Histon football clubs and not unemployed.

Greene, 47, of Fishtoft Road, Boston, claimed the benefits between 2011 and 2012 from Stonehill, St Neots, and from 2012 to 2013 in Market Square, St Neots.

Now boss of the Pilgrims, he pleaded guilty at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on February 5.

He will repay the money and an additional £1,500 to the council and complete 100 hours unpaid work.
