Boston United returned to action by storming to their biggest win of the season at Vauxhall Motors last night.

A clinical first-half display gave the Pilgrims all three points in the Blue Square Bet North clash.

Spencer Weir-Daley fired the visitors in front in the fifth minute before Tom Ward headed home Ian Ross's corner.

United weren't finished there and top scorer Marc Newsham added two more before the break to leave the Motormen reeling.

The result left the Pilgrims in 10th place, 11 points behind Gainsborough Trinity in the final play-off place.

The Blues also won on the road last night, 2-0 at Workington thanks to goals from Ryan Kendall and Shane Clarke.
