TWO Kier employees have celebrated a staggering 80 years of service between them this month.
Kier Homes held a special ceremony to mark forty years of continuous service by plumbers Dave Elsom and Paul Priddy, during which the dedicated employees were presented with a commemorative plaque and certificate.
Senior operations manager Heidi Thompson said: “Kier is proud of its people and we see them as our greatest asset.
“This is an outstanding achievement and we were honoured to be able to recognise them for such an accomplishment.”
Dave’s late father recommended that he get a trade to last a lifetime although he says his biggest achievement is marrying his wife Gail. They have been married for 35 years and have two sons.
One of his sons, Matt, has followed in Dave’s footsteps, working alongside him at Kier as a plumber for many years.
Paul started his four-year plumbing apprenticeship in 1969 and sees continuous employment for 43 years as his biggest achievement; he also enjoys the people he gets to meet as part of his job.
Kier works with Boston Borough Council, Boston Mayflower and L and H Homes to provide a repairs and maintenance service around Boston, Lincolnshire, East Anglia and Nottinghamshire. For more information about Kier visit www.kier.co.uk/maintenance
