Lincolnshire Police have named Boston man Richard Harrison as the victim of fatal A16 crash between Sibsey and Stickney.
Mr Harrison, 74, of Friar Way, was travelling home from work when the accident happened. He was married to Brenda and the couple had three daughters.
The family said in a statement issued by police: "We are completely heartbroken and devastated but wish to thank everyone from the emergency services who attended the accident and tried to help him."
Emergency services were called to the A16 between Sibsey and Stickney at 12.50pm on Thursday, April 4, after Mr Harrison's red Ford Focus was involved in a collision with an HGV.
A 52-year-old man who was driving the lorry was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is on bail until June 5.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision, or saw either the Focus or a Spanish-registered Renault HGV prior to the incident, to contact the Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.
