NINE men from the Boston area have been sentenced for their part in supplying high purity cocaine to the streets of Lincolnshire.
Operation Latious was an investigation conducted by officers from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit's Serious Organised Crime section.
It concerned an organised crime group which conspired to supply high purity cocaine within Lincolnshire between December 2010 and November 2011.
The Boston-based group, headed by Nicholas Howarth, of Wing Drive, Boston, and Leigh Upsall, of Keel Drive, Kirton, were extremely professional in the cutting, preparation and distribution of the cocaine onto the streets of Lincolnshire.
The group was initially receiving large quantities of high purity cocaine from Hakki Salih in London until the end of May 2011.
After this time they began sourcing their cocaine from a Peterborough based organised crime group headed by Andrew Friel and Matthew Purves before finally turning to Leslie Gray in Grimsby in August 2011 after all other supply networks had closed down.
The defendants were arrested during planned operations between September 2011 and May 2012.
Eighteen men have been sentenced for their part in an organised crime group which supplied and distributed Cocaine within Lincolnshire.
The men appeared before Nottingham Crown Court where they were sentenced to a total of in excess of 100 years on charges of conspiring to supply and distribute Class A drugs.
The Senior Investigating Officer DCI Joe Elliott from EMSOU-SOC said: "This was a large and complex investigation and the arrest and conviction of these men has stopped the supply of large amounts of cocaine coming onto the streets of Lincolnshire. This was a sophisticated crime group who were making large amounts of money from their enterprise."
