Leigh Wood is aiming for a Midlands Area title shot in the new year after romping to a stunning knockout victory against Tibor Meszaros.
The former Terry Allen Unique featherweight crushed the Hungarian with a devastating display that stretched his unbeaten record to 6-0-0.
Boxing out of the Ingle gym, Wood's performance again caught the eye in his last fight of the year.
He is now hoping to follow that up with another fight in the new year and putting a belt around his waist.
"I felt really, really, strong on Saturday and I knew I was capable of finishing the kid off," he said.
"I hit him with a body shot and heard him squeal for the first shot, and got him again with another body shot, which he got straight back up from.
"He was ready to crumble and when I landed a right to the head, he was never going to beat the count.
"As far as performances go, I was very happy to sign off the year like that.
"What I am aiming for now is a Midlands Area title shot in January or February time either at featherweight or super bantam.
"I'll leave it to my manager to sort out, but ideally by the end of next year, I would love to be contesting for an English title."
Meanwhile, Lincoln's Luke Walker suffered defeat on his professional debut against the unbeaten welterweight Nathan Dale.
Walker was on the wrong end of a 40-36 decision on the show in Essex, but he said ring rust played a part.
"I had not been in the ring competitively since fighting in the amateurs in January," he said. "But I wanted to fight so I chucked myself in at the deep end.
"Nathan's a good fighter to be fair. He is unbeaten at pro level, but it was only after the fight that I realised he had won 50 out of 60 amateur fights which is almost unheard of.
"I think he will go all the way domestically but this was a good experience for me.
"But I thought I gave a good account of myself having been out of the ring so long.
"I was a bit rusty, but they were close rounds.
"When you travel to face someone in their own backyard, you have work extra hard to get the decision which unfortunately didn't go my way."
