Local historian Douglas Wynn will be signing copies of his new book Lincolnshire Villains, Rogues, Rascals and Reprobates at Waterstones in Lincoln on Saturday.
Published this week, the new release looks into the history of the county's long coastline, which in the past was well adapted for smuggling.
Also, the north/south routes from London meant Lincolnshire was a haven for highwaymen and footpads.
This new title features some of the most exciting and dramatic tales detailing Lincolnshire's most notorious, as well as some of its forgotten, criminals and villains.
With tales such as the quartet hanged at Lincoln and the Grimsby pirates to smugglers in the Humber, Lincolnshire Villains, Rogues, Rascals and Reprobates details a myriad of crimes and reprehensible behaviour from all four corners of the county.
The book signing will take place at the High Street branch of Waterstones in the city, on Saturday, January 13 (11am-1pm).
