With Blue Monday firmly behind us, news of comedy gigs to look forward to should be the perfect excuse for smiles all round.
First up, after a break during January, Red Herring Comedy Club at Lincoln Drill Hall delivers Martin Mor, Adam Staunton and Sam Avery MCing on February 7.
Headline act Martin Mor has written jokes for some of the biggest names in comedy and performed on his own television show.
Event organiser Shaun Almey says: "Mor last performed in Lincoln as Frankie Boyle's tour support act in 2007.
"In fact, he's the 'go to' act for some of the best names in comedy having supported the likes of Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Steve Coogan, Johnny Vegas, Patrick Kielty and Jasper Carrott on tour.
"Support comes from tiny scouse funnyman Adam Staunton who has developed at a rate of knots since starting out a few years ago. A confident and commanding stage presence matched with excellent material has seen him perform alongside the likes of John Bishop, Phil Nichol, Rob Rouse, Jack Whitehall and Sarah Millican."
But wait, there's more: with Sam Avery as the up and coming third act, it looks set to be a great start to the new season of laughs with the Red Herring Comedy Club.

Then, just around the corner... he's recently been seen winning on Celebrity Mastermind and as a guest on Sarah Millican's Television Show, but it was BBC1's The Magicians that first brought Pete Firman to prominence with his mix of jokes and tricks.
His latest tour Hoodwinker arrives at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, February 23 (8pm).
His skill for fusing magic and comedy has made him a household name on British television, writing and performing in magic shows such as Derren Brown's 3D Magic Spectacular.
