Crash causes delays on A1 northbound near Grantham

UPDATE: 4.30pm Lincolnshire Police have reported that both carriageways are now clear northbound on the A1 at Little Ponton.

A crash involving a Dutch-owned heavy goods vehicle and a car is causing northbound tailbacks on the A1 near Grantham this afternoon.

It happened at 2pm when the lorry, from Holland, and a black BMW owned by a 39-year-old Grimsby man were both travelling in the same direction on the dual carriageway.

The collision happened at Little Ponton, two miles south of Grantham, and no-one was injured.

But both vehicle and the crash barrer were damaged and there will be delays until the car is recovered later this afternoon.
