Crash on junction of Carholme Road and Brayford Way

Two vehicles have crashed on the junction of Carholme Road and Brayford Way.

The Vauxhall Astra Estate and the Peugeot 106 collided at around 6pm today.

Three people have reportedly been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic is slow on the surrounding roads.

    I'm with bluetac on this one,the amount of times drivers jump red lights this is bound to happen eventually.

    Its about time this junction was sorted out. I don't know what causes the accidents here but they seem to be pretty regular. I've seen the aftermath of two or three of them as I've driven by and the damage always looks pretty bad. One of these days the damage to a person is going to be serious. If its the timings of the traffic signals then they should be pretty easy to sort out. If its the placement of the lights then they should be moved. (I know that would probably involve more shovel leaning and drawn out roadworks.) If it is just driver error (or impatience etc) then its time the traffic police got down there and started pulling a few over and prosecuting them!
