A Lincolnshire cyclist was killed following a collision with a rental car.

The cyclist suffered fatal injuries in the collision with a silver Kia Picanto on the B1209 at Leasingham, near Sleaford at 5.20pm yesterday.

The car was registered to a rental company but no details of the vehicle’s driver are yet known.

"drivers should take more care on dangerous roads" How do you know it was the drivers fault, could the cycalist be listining to a MP3 player or something and maybe have swayed out into the road ? Its not always the drivers fault. Thoughts are with your family

this is our cousin and we were shocked to hear the news, he was a top bloke and will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and drivers should take more care on dangerous roads.

Of course there are some courteous and careful drivers who use this road but from my first hand experience summer after summer you certainly need your wits about you on there.

I often run down this road, because of the S bend and dips half way down the road some drivers seem to treat this as a racing track. Luckily I can normally hear or see vehicles before they see me and I can get on to the verge out of the way.
