Lincolnshire Police are offering a £50 reward for information leading to the arrest of a 'drunk' car badge 'collector'.

Officers in Spalding are investigating a large number of car badge thefts in the town.

They happened when the vehicles were targeted in the Pennygate and Hannam Boulevard area of the town.

"Most of the offences took place between 4am and 5.30am on Sunday, December 1," said community policing Inspector Jim Tyner.

"Witnesses have described a man who was disturbed near one of the attacked vehicles.

"He has been described as a well-built white male in his mid-twenties. Witnesses had the impression he was drunk.

"It is believed he was wearing a dark gilet over a light-coloured hoodie.

"The fact that the man walked off when disturbed suggest that he is local to the area. Someone will know who is responsible.

"If you recognise the description of clothing or know someone with a car badge collection, please call Spalding Police.

"We are offering a £50 reward for information that leads to a conviction and recovery of the badges."

Call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
