Boston Food Bank has food parcels and cleaning products available for flood victims in need.

The donations were made by Boston Tesco customers.

To qualify you will need to receive a token from Boston Borough Council’s Municipal Buildings offices in West Street which will be open today, Sunday, from 10am to 4pm.

A total of £250 in food packages was given to Boston Food Bank last week from Lincolnshire Co-op. In total, £4,500 worth of food will be donated in £250 packages to eighteen food banks across the county. Each pack will feature 418 products including 24 tins of peas, 12 jars of pasta sauce, 12 bags of porridge oats and 24 litres of UHT milk. The donation comes as the Trussell Trust reports a 170 per cent rise in the number of people turning to food banks in the last 12 months. Food banks are designed to help people experiencing a short term crisis. Project manager for Boston Foodbank Ian Evans said: ?We?ve seen a threefold increase in demand over the past few months so donations like this one really help. We?re also planning to make up Christmas hampers too.?
