A new event is being launched to give local firms a chance to promote their products at the same time as picking up tips from business experts.

Mercury Expo is a free two-day programme of networking and seminar sessions from business experts and academics. The inaugural event takes place on 14 and 15 November, coinciding with Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Jill McCarthy, business investment manager, said:

"The event has an impressive line-up of speakers, including international sales and motivation guru Nicky Pattinson and Terry King OBE, who'll be speaking for The Prince's Initiative for Mature Enterprise.

"Businesses will be able to get an update on all the opportunities and innovations that are going on in Lincolnshire at the moment. And it will also be a chance for them to promote their companies, products and services while networking with regional and national organisations and businesses."

The event takes place at Gainsborough business centre Mercury House. The county council-run centre offers high-quality offices and facilities, making it the ideal home for new and growing businesses.

Sadie Weller, manager of Mercury House, added:

"We're delighted to be hosting the first Mercury Expo, which provides an ideal opportunity to showcase this fantastic business centre to firms in the Gainsborough area and beyond."
