Steve Housham spoke of his pride after watching his side earn a deserved FA Trophy win over Tamworth on Saturday.
Gainsborough Trinity's 2-1 victory came thanks to two first half goals from debut man Simon Russell and winger Jamie Yates as the Blues earned a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
The Blues made a mockery of the Lambs' higher division status in a dominant dispaly at the Northolme. After signing for the club just last week, former Lincoln City man Russell was presented with a glorious chance thanks to a delightful dummy by Darryn Stamp. Russell made no mistake, placing his shot into the roof of the net on 15 minutes.
Just six minutes late, Yates latched on to a long clearance from Jan Budtz before calmly slotting the ball past Tony Breeden in the Tamworth goal.
"I thought we bossed the game," said Housham after the game. "If you were a neutral you would have thought Gainsborough Trinity were the Blue Square Premier side."
The quarter-finals are due to take place on Saturday, January 26, with the draw taking place later today.
