A major city retailer will continue to trade as normal after plans to shut and sell the lease on its unit fell through.

Up to 30 jobs were to go at Homebase after the company announced it would be leaving The Sidings, in Lincoln.

It was set to cease trading on Saturday, October 6.

But the company has now confirmed that plans to sell the lease on its unit to another retailer have fallen through.

I am pleased for the 30 people who would have lost their jobs and I hope Homebase will let the store keep as it is and not close in the near future
