Around 300 people are expected to descend on Lincoln today to protest against possible cuts to Lincolnshire County Council's library services.

32 branches are threatened with closure in the county and Conservative councillors refused this week to promise that the proposals would be scrapped.

The demonstrators will gather in Castle Square at midday today and will march through the city, ending up in City Square at 1pm.

We will be covering the event live - Tweet us using the hashtag #Lincslibraries and follow our coverage on your mobile or other device via the player below.

Your Tweets will be included in our coverage if they feature the hashtag.

If they can make it a bit like the 'Community Charge (Pole Tax)' march of Thatcher's era they might just get somewhere. These councillors are as now proving that they don't give a damn about the population that voted them into power. They seem to forget that as they were voted in they can also be voted back out. BEST OF LUCK WITH THE MARCH! (sorry I can't be there).
