British Transport Police have issued a CCTV image of a woman who got on a train at Lincoln who is believed to have stolen a laptop belonging to a man from the city.
The still is of a woman suspect they want to interview in connection with an incident which happened at Newark Northgate Station.
Investigating officer PC Jacqui Wadey said: "At around 5.25pm on Friday, January 31, a 32-year-old man from Lincoln placed his laptop on top of a ticket machine on the concourse at the Newark Northgate station while he purchased his ticket.
"He then rushed to get his train and left his laptop on top of the machine.
"A short while later a man went to purchase a ticket and noticed the laptop.
"He picked it and, after seeing a woman standing nearby, asked her if she had left it and if it was her laptop.
"The woman confirmed that it was, took the laptop and put it in her bag before quickly disappearing.
"After reviewing CCTV we believe the woman pictured, who travelled from Lincoln and who was smoking whilst waiting outside near the ticket machine, may be able to help us with our enquiries into this crime.
"And I would ask anyone who recognises her, or knows her current whereabouts, to please get in touch.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered a cheap laptop in unusual circumstances in the Newark or Lincoln area."
