After a cheeky remark on television, six-year-old Alex Logan has been making national headlines for joking with Prince Harry at a national awards ceremony for brave children.

During an interview on ITV earlier in the day, Alex Logan had said he was going to tell the royal: “Glad you’ve got your clothes on, Prince Harry.”

He was referring to the revealing pictures of Prince Harry partying in Las Vegas in August.

The pair met on September 3 at the national WellChild Awards in London where leukaemia sufferer Alex won the inspirational child category.

Alex had made an impression on Prince Harry who told the boy: “You keep looking up at your mum. It looks like you’re dying to say something but you’re worried she’ll tell you off.

“I heard you were on ITV earlier and you said something cheeky but let’s not talk about that here.”

Accompanied with a finger wag, Prince Harry smiled at Alex who then introduced him to his toy penguin Hookie.

First diagnosed with leukaemia at age three, Alex spent six weeks in a comma and doctors feared he would be seriously disabled, even if he survived.

His mum, Deborah Logan said: "My husband Barrie and I are extremely proud of him and honoured to be his parents.

"He's been a little fighter.

"At one point we had to call the grandparents and aunties and uncles in to say goodbye to him but now you would not suspect there's anything wrong with him at all.

"He never complains about the treatment or going to hospital."

Alex faces several more months of chemotherapy and an uncertain future but continues to smile as a Liverpool fan who loves Thomas the Tank Engine and anything to do with penguins.

After "Alex spent six weeks in a comma", I think we should all be thankful he didn't come to a full stop.
