Lincoln Christmas Market begins on Thursday, the 31st occasion it has been held.

The market began in 1982 with just 11 stalls but has expanded to become one of the biggest events in the city.

Here, we look back at Lincoln Christmas Markets of the past and the many faces who enjoyed the festive spirit.
