Lincoln City were holding Barnet to a 1-1 draw at half-time at Sincil Bank in their final game of the Skrill Premier season.

Barnet had taken the lead on six minute from the penalty spot. However, City struck back immediately to keep the scores level at the break.

Lincoln started brightly, with Ben Tomlinson forcing Nick Jupp to make a save down at his near post.

However, that bright start was undone when in their first attack Barnet earned a penalty on the sixth minute.

Luke Gamblin had edged his way into the area before being brought down. Ahmed Abdulla stepped up and put the ball past Townsend.

The Imps responded immediately, with Tomlinson earning a corner after a charging run down the left-hand side.

Sean Newton whipped the ball in and Nat Brown raced into strike it past Nick Jupp for his second goal of the season on seven minutes.

On 16 minutes the fans acknowledged a minute’s applause for young fan Matty Ellis who died in a car crash last week.

Lincoln continued to push and on 20 minutes a Newton cross found Tom Miller at the far post, but his header was blocked by Jupp.

Barnet were not shaken by losing their early lead so quickly and carried on pushing forward.

They had plenty of creativity going forward. Gamblin was again causing problems when he nipped in and stole the ball of Miller, but his shot went wide.

On 30 minutes Lincoln were forced into making their first change when Audel went down injured and had to be taken off on a stretcher. He was replaced by Luke Foster.

Barnet were winning their battles in midfield and dominating.

City were having to make the most of their counter attacks and on 41 minutes they went close to extending their lead.

A sweeping move saw Jon Nolan race up the right-hand side before playing in Miller. The right-back attacked the ball first time, but his effort crashed back off the post.

Not to be outdone, Gamblin responded for Barnet and seconds later he had a long-range attempt clatter the cross bar.
