Defender Peter Gilbert has joined Lincoln City on a non-contract basis.
Hexham-born Gilbert started his career as a trainee with Birmingham City but made his Football League debut while on loan at Plymouth Argyle in 2003.
Following a permanent move, he became a regular as Argyle won the Second Division championship, with Gilbert earning the first of his eight Welsh U21 international caps in the process.
His impressive form earned him a six-figure move to Leicester City in 2005 but he was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday before making a permanent move to Hillsborough.
After spending three years with the Owls, the 29-year-old went on to play for Doncaster Rovers (loan), Oldham Athletic, Northampton Town and Southend United.
He has been handed squad number 30 and will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's home match against Luton Town.
