It will be interesting to see if Karl offers his backing for an ammendment being tabled in The House of Commons next week expressing regret that the Government had not announced an EU referendum bill.

Given his track record for attracting criticism perhaps Mr McCartney needs to attend a few advice clinics as a punter. He could start with "My name's Karl, I have a superiority complex and get angry with people that deny my dodgy claims or seek to prevent me serving myself..."

I met Ms Merron once and she seemed to have the charisma and intelligence of a melted ice cream but she was an intellectual giant compared with self-serving Karl (spell-my-name-right) McCartney. Let's not be unkind though, our MP has organised a whole 90 minutes of his time in Seminar Room 1 (bet we all knew exactly where that was, eh?) at the Grot. Better still, he's given everyone a huge 24 hours notice of his gracious presence among us.
