Two Lincoln dance schools will showcase their talent in front of crowds in London's West End.

StreetBeat Movement Academy and Lilac Theatre Dance have both been selected to strut their stuff in a dance production in the capital tomorrow.

The show, entitled Bobby Dazzlers, is made up of up-and-coming dance groups from across the country in front of a 900-strong audience.

The event will take place at Her Majesty's Theatre, in the heart of London's West End.

Streetbeat Academy, based in Portland Street, will perform a street and commercial dance.

The popular club was selected by Bobby Dazzlers after a host of fine performances in Lincoln had been posted as videos on the internet.

Joint-owner at StreetBeat Movement Academy, Julie Lowe, said: "This represents such an achievement for the group.

"It really is a fantastic opportunity for all of them to shine on what will be a big stage.

"It is their hobby and yet they have worked very hard for this chance.

"We have been up and running for five years now and for the club this is obviously a great advert.

"We are chuffed to bits with what they have done and hopefully they will do great on the day. I am sure they will."

StreetBeat will comprise 15 dancers.

Dancer Aliya Arthur, 17, said she could not wait to perform on the big stage.

"It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us," she said. "We have worked hard for this and dancing in front of so many people will be exciting."

Lilac Theatre Dance will perform jazz, street and contemporary dances.

Ellie Maltby, principal at Lilac Theatre Dance, said: "It is such a huge opportunity for our budding young dancers to take part in a big production on a West End stage.

"For most, it is a dream come true and to be achieving that at such a young age is fantastic. It is an experience they will remember for ever and we are very proud of them all.

"We have been rehearsing for the show over and doing extra during the summer holiday."
