A drugs courier was caught after a routine police check revealed he was driving an uninsured car, Lincoln Crown Court was told.

Andrzej Musial was transporting a stash of cannabis from Lincoln to Stansted.

Nicki Forster, prosecuting, said officers were concerned at the appearance of the VW Passat and carried out a computer check which revealed it was not insured.

The vehicle was stopped at Woolfax, north of Stamford, and as officers checked his details they became aware of a strong smell of cannabis.

Officers found a large bin liner containing cannabis bush in the boot.”

Musial, 35, of no fixed address, admitted possession of cannabis with intent to supply on November 8.

He was jailed for eight months.

Musial should look on the bright side - at least he's now of a fixed address for a couple of months. Don't suppose there's a chance of deportation on release is there?

The moral of this case would appear to be that, if you are carrying cannabis in your car, you should make sure the car is insured.
