An all-singing, all-dancing Lincoln girl will take to the stage as Annie – in Hong Kong.

Charlie Hall, 11, from Witham Close, has landed the lead role in Playhouse Production's show which will be touring Hong Kong for a month.

The Manor Leas Junior School pupil, who has only ever been as far away as Spain, cannot wait for the biggest role of her short career.

She said: "I have wanted to do this since I was about seven years old.

"It is going to be really exciting visiting a place I have never been to and it will be a fantastic experience for me.

"Hopefully, this will be the start of something I will be doing for a long time to come.

"I am most looking forward to getting out there and doing my first performance and making my dream come true."

The show, which will also tour Singapore for five weeks later in the year, also stars Su Pollard, of Hi-de-Hi fame, and Charlie is excited to work with an experienced actress.

"I can't wait to work alongside her, she has so much experience I can learn from," said Charlie.

"To be honest, I had never heard of her when I was first told she was in the show but I did some research and she is great.

"Just from the rehearsals in London she has given me some tips and I have picked up some things from her."

One person couldn't be more proud of Charlie, and that's mum, Jane Priestly, 37.

"I am so proud of her, to the point of bursting," she said.

"She was ten when she got the part and I had to think about whether I let her go to Hong Kong on her own but when you see how much she wants this I couldn't stop her.

"We have had to spend hours working on the script with her but it will all be worth it.

"She has her sights set on the West End and I will support her whatever she does and I am confident she will make it."

Charlie attends Theatre School of Performing Arts in North Hykeham and her teacher has tipped her to have a bright future.

Anne MacLachlan, head of drama, said: "Charlie is a model pupil.

"She is what we call a triple threat – comfortable with singing, dancing and acting so I wouldn't put it past her going far in the business."

As for the future, there is one role that Charlie wouldn't mind playing.

"I love the Wizard of Oz, so if ever I got the chance to play Dorothy in the West End I would be delighted," she said.
