City Sheriff Melanie Tointon is hoping to raise as much money as possible for St Barnabas Hospice during a moonlight walk in Lincoln on Saturday.

Sheriff Tointon is supporting the mayor's official charity in the six mile walk, which sets off at 10pm from Yarborough Leisure Centre.

As the route winds its way around the city, walkers will take in Lincoln's famous sites like the Brayford Pool and Bailgate.

In 2011, almost 1,000 people took part in the walk, raising more than £230,000 for the hospice.

Anyone who would like to donate can visit www.justgiving.com/Melanie-Tointon or contact civic manager Kate Fenn on 01522 873303 or kate.fenn@lincoln.gov.uk
