A £250,000 upgrade of Lincoln train station is due to start this week.

The project, funded by Network Rail and East Midlands Trains, will see the station entrance completely refurbished with a bigger and brighter booking hall.

There will be new toilets and changing facilities, the station hall reconfigured to improve the flow of passengers and additional cycling shelters.

The building work by B&K Services is due for completion in March 2014.

Neil Micklethwaite, Commercial and Customer Service Director for East Midlands Trains, will officially mark the beginning of the work on Wednesday, December 11.

About time too! So many passengers trying to go in and out of one small door and ticket barriers that don't work. Look forward to March......
