Members of the Lincoln Cathedral choir are taking on one of the most ambitious choral works ever written in a special performance.
Handel's Messiah will be performed on November 24 at 7:30pm at Lincoln Cathedral.
The choir will be accompanied by the Lincolnshire Chamber Orchestra as they tackle the well known but notoriously difficult piece.
Among the soloists will be two former Lincoln choral scholars. Bozidar Smiljanic is now undertaking advanced study at the Royal Academy of Music and Ben Clark has been awarded a place in Harry Christophers’ prestigious training choir, Genesis Sixteen.
Tickets for the performance cost between £18 and £13 and can be purchased from the Lincoln Cathedral website or from Lincoln Minster Shops on 01522 561644.
The cathedral has also teamed up with the Lincoln Hotel to offer special packages. Two people can enjoy a two-course meal in the Long Room, overlooking the cathedral, and get two premium concert tickets for only £50 a couple, including free parking.
