So-called football 'fans' shamed Lincoln on Saturday. Again.

Dozens of men – including some already banned from Sincil Bank – fought in the High Street before City's game against Luton. Families hid beneath tables and staff cowered behind the bar as chaos erupted at Ritz.

A woman was hit in the face with a glass as officers broke up the rival gangs.

And as the pictures linked to this article show, one supporter, Simon Chanter, had to be wrestled to the ground as he ran towards Imps manager David Holdsworth. He had already been thrown out of Sincil Bank but sneaked back in before his pathetic pitch invasion.

This happened in front of hundreds of kids, many of whom were attending a City fixture for the first time following a successful community promotion by the Imps.

Just two months ago, City had to cancel a lucrative friendly against Leicester City because of the threat of violence. And the Echo has carried many reports on young hooligans who are banned from following Lincoln because of their continued violence or antisocial behaviour.

Will the kids return? Will their parents want to take them back to Sincil Bank?

For the sake of everyone who cares about the Imps – and about our city's reputation – if you know any of these louts, give their names to police.

They must be banned from football for good, so real fans can enjoy the game in peace.

I was there that day and found it most ridiculous and funny as did most people around me. Having said that it did all take part in front of the family section and that is not clever. If this fella had been chucked out once he should have been properly escorted from the ground - not allowed to wander freely to the next available entrance (which had been opend as we were close to the end of the match) and then perform his silly stunt. With the fighting in town and this blokes actions it feels like we have regressed several years and I agree our kids and young supporters of this club should not be witnessing this kind of action - otherwise they won't be coming back.

Will probably claim it is his "Human right" to act like a yob. Although in this case I guess they can argue that you at least have to resemble a human for those rules to apply.

The fact that you have gave this idiot in 1 min of fame just goes to show where the Echo are in the table of professional press. Mind you the likes of the Echo have got what they wanted, to use this fool as a means to and end. The end being that at least you can distract atttention away from the complete failings at the club and the fact that it is being driven into the ground. This has been spun in exactly the same way the coverage of the meeting the fans group with the board was. oh and that community venture you quoted in the piece actually came from the fans group. Well done!!!!
