ORGANISERS of this year’s SO Festival are offering amateur performers the chance to appear alongside some of the best dance companies in the country.
As part of the festival’s dance programme, a showcase of up and coming national outdoor arts productions from the ‘Without Walls’ touring programme will hit the streets of Skegness to entertain crowds on July 6.
Acts scheduled to perform include C-12 Dance Theatre’s Trolleys, Mimbre’s Falling Up, Bad Taste Cru’s Tribal Assembly and Upswing’s Red Shoes.
In addition to national outdoor dance acts, SO Festival, which is funded by Arts Council England, wants to feature talented Lincolnshire dancers of all ages, styles, and experiences during an outdoor showcase at Tower Gardens on July 6.
SO Festival is calling for expressions of interest from professional schools, community groups and school companies across Lincolnshire by this Saturday.
A list of acts will then be compiled in the coming weeks.
Katie Louise Holden, Cultural Assistant for East Lindsey District Council, said: “We are thrilled to showcase Lincolnshire’s top dance talent at this year’s SO Festival.
“Performing in front of our large audiences during one of the UK’s top arts festivals is a fantastic opportunity, and we look forward to offering a little something for everyone during our talent-filled dance programme.”
