SINGER Lisa Stansfield may have “been around the world” but she’s never been to Boston.
But that will change on Tuesday, October 1 when she performs songs from her new album at Boston’s Blackfriars Art Centre.
The performance has been organised by Lincs FM, in partnership with Boston College, as part of its Up Close and Personal events.
The performance is free but limited tickets must be won via Lincs FM’s website.
Group head of music Eddie Shaw said: “Lisa was invited to perform in Boston on October 1, Lincolnshire Day.
“She will play in an up-close gig where for 30 to 40 minutes with a selection of new songs from her upcoming album Seven, along with some of her biggest hits of the past.”
Lisa has won three Brit Awards, including twice being named Best British Female. She has also won two Ivor Novello Awards and has twice been nominated for a Grammy Award in America.
In a string of hits dating back to the 1980's she's had five top 10 albums and seven top 10 singles including two Number one’s with 'All Around The World' and 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' with George Michael.
Her new single 'Can't Dance' and album 'Seven' are both due to be released in October.
Boston College spokesman, marketing manager Katrina Gilbert said Boston College was pleased to be working in partnership with Lincs FM.
She said: “It is really exciting for Boston.
“Lisa’s performance at Blackfriars will put the town on the map.”
