Stable: A man hit by a train in Lincoln is in a stable condition in hospital, police say

A man who suffered a head injury after being struck by a train in Lincoln is in a stable condition in hospital.

He was airlifted to QMC Hospital in Nottingham after being hit on tracks near Tritton Road, which run near to the City of Lincoln Academy, just before noon yesterday.

British Transport Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.

The railway line was re-opened at 12.48pm.
