Residents living on a Lincoln housing development will benefit from a new £60,000 multi-use games area that has been opened.

The facility has been opened by housing provider Derwent Living near to its properties at Ruston Way, Lincoln.

The state-of-the-art games area is set between the residential properties - consisting of 200 houses and flats - and the newly completed accommodation for students at Saul House.

Mitch Allseybrook, resident involvement manager, said: “This is a large scheme which was built over several years. This gave us the opportunity to consult with residents in how we finished the development.

“Parents said that they would value the provision of a safe play area for children close to their homes. This new play area meets that need and is a real asset to the scheme.

“We held the opening event both to celebrate its completion and to give families guidance on what it can and can’t be used for.

"After the formal opening we organised some games and coaching activities so the kids could see how they can get the best out of it.

“We had a basketball competition with prizes for those taking part. We also gave out some goodie bags and mini-footballs to get them started.”
