Visitors to the Lincoln Christmas Market can pre-book their park and ride ticket for the first time.
With just two months to go until this year's event, organisers say the measure will make journeys easier for shoppers.
People can book a parking space and return journey into the heart of the market online.
The free-to-enter market will take place between Thursday, December 6 and Thursday, December 9.
The park and ride, which was used by 12,000 people last year, will operate from Lincolnshire Showground on the A15 just north of Lincoln.
Holly Parker, events officer at the City of Lincoln Council, which organises the market, said: "As the Christmas market takes place around uphill Lincoln, many of the streets are closed or have parking restrictions.
"To ease congestion and disruption for local residents, the park and ride service drops visitors off right in the heart of the market area so they can enjoy the fabulous atmosphere, without the stress of finding a parking space."
Park and ride prices and opening hours:
- Thursday: 11.30am – 10pm, £12 per car
Friday: 9am – 10pm, £13 per car
Saturday: 9am – 10pm, £15 per car
Sunday: 9am – 7.30pm, £14 per car
- Minibuses, with 15 seats or less, will be charged £25 a day
