Lincolnshire Police have confirmed that damage to flood defences in Boston is currently being evaluated and a police helicopter is surveying the wider area.
21 evacuees are confirmed as having arrived at evacuation centres and a further 230 are en route.
They will remain at the centres for at least a further 12 to 18 hours.
There has been one reported casualty which is a person who suffered an asthma attack.
The high tide on Friday morning is expected at 8.06am and is likely to be 70cms lower than tonight's high tide.
