The Red Arrows back-up team returned to RAF Waddington today on a civilian charter service supplied by Monarch airlines.

Members of the aerobatic maintenance team were returning to Lincolnshire following their Middle Eastern tour, supporting the aircraft.

The team’s visit to the region was undertaken after accepting an invitation to the Dubai Air Show.

The tour was used by the Red Arrows as an opportunity to highlight the Royal Air Force’s agility, adaptability and capability.

A spokeswoman for Monarch airlines: “Our plane that landed at Waddington today was a charter service.”

I hope Monarch treated them better than they treated me. 6 hour delay and a refusal to compensate as obligated by law.
