The Red Herring Comedy Club is promising four acts, each with a different style on Thursday, June 7.

Event organiser Shaun Almey says: "Headline act Mike Wilkinson (pictured) is full to the brim with down-to-earth northern charm. He takes a bemused glance at the world and then throws it a smile. The laughs come thick and fast with Wilkinson's dry humour and razor sharp wit."

Opening act Joe Lycett has been making a name for himself over the few years he has been performing and is tipped for great things.

"Our middle act is Dan Bland," says Shaun. "A one-liner comedian that has one of the best opening lines I've heard in many years.

"MCing is Phil Ellis. He's previously performed at Red Herring and brought the house down with his silliness and playful persona. An instantly likeable yet unpredictable act, he lives in the moment."

Red Herring Comedy Club, Lincoln Drill Hall on Thursday, June 7 (8.30pm). Tickets: £10/£9 (advance). Box office: (01522) 873894 www.lincolndrillhall.com
