The new sports complex at Lincoln College will receive the royal seal of approval when it is officially opened by Princess Anne.

Her Royal Highness will visit the state-of-the-art Deans: Sports and Leisure building, in Monks Road, in Friday, February 15.

The princess, who last visited Lincoln to open the University of Lincoln's £7 million engineering hub, will tour the facilities and meet with students on a range of programmes.

She will also meet students with learning difficulties who use the site's new Cherry Tree Allotments as part of their course.

The college's principal, John Allen, said: "We are honoured and delighted to be receiving Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal at the college as part of her visit to Lincoln.

"This is an exciting event for everyone at Lincoln College and we will involve as many students and staff in the day as possible.

"We look forward to welcoming Her Royal Highness and will be extremely proud to showcase our fantastic new facility."

doe one have to pay for these royal visits then, wot, if so how much? and if so would that have been better spent on our over restrained budgets to ease the situation a bit?
