A host of fitness and dance displays are being held to raise funds for Lincoln's Salvation Army, in City Square, today.

Everything from a weightlifting challenge to pole fitness displays are taking place to generate funds for the repair of the Salvation Army Hall.

The building which is over 100-years-old, has started to crumble and £250,000 needs to be raised to save the hall.

Members of the public are encouraged to come along and enjoy the entertainment with local dance group, Street Beat and to try their hand at tight-rope walking and help with the weightlifting challenge.

The event is running from 10am until 4pm in City Square in Lincoln.

@Camelherder: I went along, and there were quite a lot of people there. I spoke to one guy who reckoned they had raised over £2k, which is good. If you missed the event, but would like to donate, you could always send a cheque to The Salvation Army Lincoln Corps 106 High Street Lincoln LN5 7PY

Since when did we have bungee jumping angels on the Cornhill? This event was held in City Square the photo is a bit of a clue. They may have raised a little bit more cash had people been given the right location.
