French bistro No.14 in Lincoln's picturesque Bailgate is holding a special evening to celebrate Bastille Day on Saturday, July 14.

A national day in France to commemorate the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison in 1789, the restaurant is offering a special three course menu at £10 per person from 11am until 5pm.

Diners can look forward to French delicacies such as escargots (snails) and boeuf bourguignon. Live entertainment will continue into the night with music and a mime artist.

Elsewhere in Lincoln, the Wig & Mitre on Steep Hill continue their themed dining and wine experience nights with a Portuguese Gourmet Evening on Friday, June 22 (7.30pm for 8pm).

The four course dinner and wine costs £40 per person with a Churchills white port on arrival and coffee to finish. Other menu highlights include braised pig cheeks, olive oil mash and white beans. For further information call 01522 535190 or visit www.wigandmitre.com
