Love, comedy and a sprightly fairy called Puck collide in one of Shakespeare's much loved tales.

Perfect for audiences of all ages, The Palace Theatre in Newark will welcome award winning Sell-A-Door Theatre Company with A Midsummer Night's Dream on February 14-15.

Director Bryn Holding says: "This is one of Shakespeare's most performed plays, and is the perfect introduction to classical text. His plays were written to be seen and heard, not just to be read. In our experience, a youngster's first encounter with Shakespeare will stay with them for life."

With Hermia so in love with Lysander and Lysander devoted to Hermia it should all be straight forward really, but "the course of true love never did run smooth".

David Popple, acting business manager at the theatre, says: "We are committed to programming a wide variety of shows for our audiences, and as Shakespeare plays such a significant role in this country's cultural heritage, this is a wonderful opportunity to bring one of his most popular plays to Newark'.

February 14-15, 7.30pm. Tickets: £13, £11 concs. Box office: 01636 655755.
