Struggling Lincoln United re-sign midfielder Steve Melton

Lincoln United remain rooted to the foot of Evo-Stik Division Division One (South) following Tuesday's 1-0 home defeat to fellow strugglers Hucknall Town.

Julian Topliss scored the only goal of the game after 34 minutes to condemn the Whites to their fifth straight league defeat.

Manager Terry Fleming, whose side are without a game on Saturday, have re-signed midfielder Steve Melton.

The Whites return to action on Saturday, September 15 when King's Lynn Town visit the newly-named NTR Solutions Stadium.

Lincoln Moorlands Railway's struggles in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division continue.

The Moors prop up the table and face a trip to Picking Town on Saturday.

Former Lincoln City and Grimsby Town winger Adam Buckley, 32, has rejoined the Newark Road outfit following a spell at Nettleham.

In NCEL Division One, Louth Town have enjoyed a good start to the season under former Boston United and Grimsby striker Daryl Clare.

On Saturday, the Whites Wolves visit Shirebrook Town.

In the United Counties League Premier Division, Sleaford Town are still looking for their first points.

Glen Maddison's side, who lost 5-1 at Spalding United on Tuesday, travel to Long Buckby.

In the same division, Boston Town, who lost 4-2 at St Ives on Tuesday, travel to Wellingborough Town.

Meanwhile, Grantham Town are in FA Cup first qualifying round action at Loughborough Dynamo.
