Lloyd Kerry scored in the opening minute of the game as Tamworth beat Lincoln 1-0.
With less than a minute played, Kerry gave the home side the lead when he latched onto Shaun Jeffers' pass to tap home from close range.
Both teams were reduced to 10 men when Tamworth's Richard Tait and Lincoln's Gary Mills were given straight red cards for violent conduct in the 27th minute.
Lincoln struggled to break down the Lambs' defence in the first half and never looked like troubling Tony Breedon in the Tamworth goal.
The picture was not much brighter for the Imps after the break, as Tamworth kept them at arms length in what was a scrappy second half.
