An event which promises participants the chance to journey across Scotland with whiskies from a wide range of tastes will be on offer when Celtic musician and historian Bob Bales visits the region.

'Highland Dreams – Myths and More: whisky tasting experience and supper', will be presented at the Wig & Mitre in Lincoln on Friday, July 5 and the George Hotel in Leadenham on Sunday, July 7 (both at 7.30pm).

Bob is visiting the UK from Germany, on his research travels, heading for Scotland and the distilleries of Islay. He is also writing a book on the rich history of Islay, which, besides the whisky heritage, will include the legend of the Lords of the Isles.

The presentation includes six very different single malt whiskies of varying ages and regions, live music, historical and anecdotal accounts, discussion, visuals on screen and a supper.

For more information and to book places call the Wig & Mitre, 32 Steep Hill, on 01522 535190 or the George Hotel, 20 High Street, Leadenham on 01400 272251.
